We will be playing San Diego's infamous Street Scene Festival September 19, 2008 along with a handful of other dates on the west coast including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, & San Francisco. Hope to see you all there. Here are all the dates:

ladies and gentlemen, i am pleased to announce that record number 2 is aaalmost finished! just needs to be mixed and that will be that. we wrapped up all the tracking a couple of weeks ago and spent the remainder of our time in california rubbing elbows with LA's elite. and more fishing. and ping pong.

we checked in with our friends the shys who were playing with hot hot heat at the Roxy. we caught up with our friends and empty bun tourmates eastern conference champions for a couple drinks and talked about old times and ironically ate buns with hot dogs IN them! the topper was the back porch jam we had at Butch's place on the last day of tracking. such an amazing trip - we are very grateful.

well friends.. we are back at the chateau and are heading into our last week of recording. we are also very pleased with how this record is shaping up. Extremadamente contento!. Butch has been a great producer / friend to us while we've been out here and i can't say enough about about how much respect i have for the guy. amazing.

forgot to mention in the previous entries about kenny and my 2nd fishing escapade. Lake Castaic.. not as far away, and equal in beauty. no fines or fees this time. and though we still didn't bring home the big one, i DID get a bite and kenny got some serious knowledge dropped on him by a knowitall kid who kept trying to tell everyone what to do.

thanks for keeping up with us... while it's still a little early for me to start talking about a release date, i should suspect it won't be too long before we start seeing those tour dates popping up. so get ready.

It's been quite a week. Most of the vocal and guitar work is now done and we'll be sweetening things up next week with miscellaneous fuzz and twitter. Not to mention the good vibes the surroundings to which we've grown accustom have provided. That's not to say in anyway that we've gotten soft but maybe, just maybe, that rack tom sound on "Holiday?" wouldn't have sounded so sweet.

Ok. Ok. Enough blubbering. Big thanks to everyone in Malibuland for their help and hospitality. We'll come back anytime.

Yes it is!

It's from a relaxed, highly productive, inspired Films camp we great you from the hills of Malibu, CA. It's nothing like any of us has ever really experienced before and it's taken us a couple of days to get over the shock and adjust to such an amazing place.

Mike has been round the bend to complete vocal overdubs and Kenny is now getting into the bulk of guitar work. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter every day.

Hopefully we can get our act together and get some video happening soon. For now here's some old fashion stills.

Howdy folks. We're back in action after a fun filled end-of-week slash weekend. For now, we've wrapped up things in the city of angels packed a few necessities, and have moved north up the coast. In the great timeline of album number two we've completed basic tracking on all of the songs, Mike has been doing a bit of singing and we'll be doing a lot of guitar related waxing in the next few days.

In our spare time we've taken up tennis, pizza, and a second round of fishing.

As always more to come.

took the day off yesterday. kenny and i decided to get outta the city and do a little fishin'. we drove up to Lake Casitas, about an hour and a half north of LA. the drive was relaxing. the scenery.. beautiful. getting busted by the ranger for fishing without a license... priceless.

Yogi said he'd throw the citation out if we agreed to go buy a fishing license on the way out and register it with the front desk. no harm. no foul. we ended up catching nuthin' but a little buzz, a couple farmer tans, and these precious moments:

something amazing is on the TV right now. i haven't really been paying close attention, but i know that it involves Jon Bon Jovi and vampires. sold.

adam went back to NY for the weekend and Jake went up to his folks house, so kenny and i partied down w some of our neighbors in the chateau last night. they are all very nice and also really really ridiculously good looking. models i think. male.

so anyway, we are heading into the studio today to work on some guitar. in the past couple of days we finished up basic tracks for "Completely Replaceable" and "Holiday" - 2 of my personal faves. things are moving right along kids.. you'll have your sophomore release before you can say "You're Gonna Get It!"

things are moving along incredibly, thoroughly, and beautifully as we head into our 4th day of recording. we've completed basic tracks for "Amateur Hour", "Fingernails For Breakfast", "Heartbreaker", and "People Like You" and couldn't be happier with the way things are sounding.

my face and gut are both sore this morning thanks to "shreds". there are really no words.. you just have to experience it for yourself.

(we just got internet at our place so we're just now able to start posting these)

mornin' folks! we are writing you from sunny, beautiful, adobe laden los angeles, california where we have just begun recording our 2nd LP. quite a change from icy, snowy, windy Michigan where we made "Don't Dance Rattlesnake". i've never liked L.A., but something feels different this time.

so, let's catch you up as i sip my coffee pool side: we arrived a couple days ago, checked into our hotel which is sort of like a little apartment with a balcony, complete with picnic table and umbrella overlooking the pool (we've deemed it "the chateau"), went to "Ralph's" a few times - and then a few more times, partied down some, visited Jake's folks who treated us to some outstanding west coast pizza, met up with our girl stephanie for some sushi, caught up with some more of our business peeps, and then finally got to work.

got to the studio last night around 5, chewed the fat w Butch (our producer) for a few minutes, and then got straight down to biz. we burned thru drums, bass and guitar for "Amateur Hour" in no time flat and then called it a day. moral is high. <

HAPPY HOLIDAYS - from a scattered Films camp. at the end of a heavily traveled 2007, we are all enjoying a little time off for the holidays before we crank back up in January. we'll most likely be off the road until we are finished with the new record, but we'll keep you updated with any tourdates that pop up as we get em. did i say "NEW RECORD"?? yup.. The Films will start making their 2nd full length lp promptly after the egg nog headaches wear off.. hopefully early january. we are all very excited.

in the meantime, the grinch has towed our van and Michael Trent has released a solo record which you can find out more about by clicking on it..

AKW was our kind of place... Disregard for an official German holiday which states "dancing is not allowed" (we were even told the show could be shut down if the police showed up) and a staff that works for free just because they believe what the club is doing for the community.
