Films Inventions #1

From time to time, genius tends to strike one, if not all of us, not in musical way but in a practical, way wherein we are blessed with the gift for creating an obvious solution to a common problem. Though details about producing these "solutions" or "inventions" if you will, are not clearly seen through, we'd like to at least share these ideas with the world so others will know that we made an effort to make this world a a better, safer, more convenient place for us.

Todays Invention: Umbrellock / Pat. Pending Number: 3467755323

Ever grabbed your umbrella, headed for the door and tried to fit it into you're already overstuffed BAG, purse, or carrier of some type and that darned thing just won't go fit there? Or maybe you don't have a bag, but you grab your umbrella and it would be much more convenient to be "handsfree" as they say. Well friends, cast those sleepless nights aside because we present the UMBRELLOCK. Concieved in a dream by our own Jake Sinclair, the UMBRELLOCK is a simple device that simply combines the rain/sun protection of an umbrella with the security of a lock, well a clasp really - but it's like a lock. Call it what you want, but now you can simply "lock" the UMBRELLOCK to your bag strap, belt loop (wink wink), or any where on your person or personal item(s) and never worry again about forgetting, stuffing, or holding that boring umbrella again.

Need a bag to strap your UMBRELLOCK to? We've got new FILMS TOTE BAGS available at The Films Store

Movie Review: Blind Beast

Our friend Sean had done a poster for Asobi Seksu with images from this movie so when I saw the DVD, I had to see what it was all about. I was not prepared for such genius.

Premise: Blind sculpture kidnaps desirable artist model (w/ help from his creepy mom) in order sculpt her by developing the "art of touch" technique. Seems like it won't hold up?... who cares - sounds amazing. Besides the obvious ensuing head games, some amazing art/set design in the artist's studio/dungeon, this thing is packed with some seriously hot, bizarre action snowballing to a fantastic end. And considering this movie, with a total cast of 3, came out in 1969... wow. Larry Clark eat your heart out.

Rating: Double WOW
Advice: Watch with one eye closed
